A student’s supervisory committee should be formed by the end of the student’s 2nd semester (or before completion of 15 credit hours).
- Minimum of three committee members
- Faculty advisor serves as chair
- At least two must be Nutrition and Health Sciences faculty. The third member may be from NHS or another department.
Minor: Students seeking a minor are required to have a graduate faculty member from the minor program on their Supervisory Committee. It is at the discretion of the minor advisor as to whether they elect to be on the student’s supervisory committee as long as a minor comprehensive exam is not required. A minor is not required for the MS in NHS.UNL EmployeesTo reduce conflict of interest, University of Nebraska-Lincoln employees must identify a faculty advisor other than their immediate work supervisor. Their work supervisor may serve on their supervisor committee as a committee member.
