Visiting Artist Kim Hahn, Associate Professor and Associate Director, The Fashion School, Kent State University, TMFD Alumna, Ph.D. in Textile and Apparel Design 2005.Kim Hahn, who earned master's and doctoral degrees from UNL, is a celebrated educator and an award-winning designer. Her work has been showcased in China, Canada and througout the U.S. Hahn's designs incorporate both Eastern and Western cultural inspirations while using various surface design techniques, such as hand weaving and digital textile printing, as well as advanced pattern development skills. The textile surface design of most of her design utilizes an optical illusion of depth and volume created by having parallel gradation in two contrasting colors overlap in an interleaving pattern.
