Assignment and Role of Advisers

Each student is assigned an academic adviser upon admission to the Graduate Certificate or Endorsement program in Special Education. The adviser will be a full-time faculty member in Special Education, and will be familiar with the program in which the student is interested.

Students should meet with an adviser prior to application to the program and/or immediately upon learning of admission to the program in order to outline a sequence of required courses. The adviser acts as academic guide, professional mentor, and advocate while students move through their program of studies.

Change in Adviser

Students may request, and have considered, a change in adviser by contacting the SECD Graduate Faculty Chairperson, in writing, with a rationale for the change.
