My research explores finding apparel design solutions that are inclusive to a range of unique user needs. An inclusive design framework guides apparel design that solves problems without stigmatizing the individual wearer. Recent research utilizes social media as a rich source of information to inform design solutions for an aging female baby boomer population. Sustainable and minimal waste apparel design is an underlying thread that is a priority in my research as well as an important focus in the courses that I teach. Future research will incorporate 3D body scanning in the apparel product design and development process.
