Linsey Bode, Nikki Hascall, and Kari Schroeder, three Textiles, Clothing and Design majors, were guests at a two-hour “behind the scenes” visit to Buckle at the Westfield Gateway Mall earlier this month.  On hand to guide the students through the store were Jamie Banzhaf (Buckle Recruiting Coordinator), Kristi Adair (Visual Merchandiser from Buckle's Kearney store), Jessica Schmidt (store manager at the SouthPointe Mall Buckle, also in Lincoln), and Kirby Baker and Jason Randazzo (Westfield store co-managers).   The students were also warmly welcomed by recent TCD graduates Molly Kamrath and Joanna Engleman (B.S. 2009).

Anna Pearson (TCD's Montage president) and Jamie Banzhaf organized the tour to help students learn more about the Buckle and to establish a closer relationship with the TCD department.  During the tour, the students learned the how’s and why’s of merchandising Buckle stores and got a preview of women’s and men’s spring fashion. The students also learned the importance of Buckle’s private label BKE in driving sales and attracting designers for collaborative projects. TCD looks forward to future Buckle learning opportunities like this for both students and faculty.
