Dr. Renee Hyde, professor of practice retires from EDAD

Dr. Hyde retires from EDAD

Dr. Renee Hyde announced that she will be retiring from the department in August. We thank Dr. Hyde for her years of service to the P-12 school leadership program and wish her the best in retirement. As Dr. Hyde begins to end her tenure at the university, she reflects upon her extensive career in education.

EDAD alum's school district receives Green Ribbon School Award

EDAD alum Dr. Travis Miller’s school district was named a 2020 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School District Sustainability Awardee. 

Bayard Public Schools was one of 11 districts across the country honored for its efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education.

Dr. LaCost retires after 30 years

Dr. Barbara LaCost has a long and vibrant history in the education field. After serving 30 years with the Department of Educational Administration at UNL she is retiring. 

At UNL, she was an assistant professor for six years before transitioning to an associate professor and was a dissertation advisor to many doctoral students in the department.

Dr. Torraco retires after 26 years at UNL

After 26 years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dr. Richard Torraco is retiring. 

While working in the Department of Educational Administration, Dr. Torraco was an Associate Professor, a researcher, and an instructor. 

But he was also more than that. He was an advisor and a confidant to countless graduate students and a respected member of the EDAD team.
