As part of her final master's degree project in Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design, College of Education and Human Sciences, Stephanie Pitcher used body scanning and 3-D printer technology to create avatars of real women.
For as long as she’s loved video games, one question has nagged at Stephanie Pitcher — why, in an industry where nearly half of all players are women, are female avatars not more representative and diverse?
