Amy Brown Administrative Associate

B.A., Community Health, New Mexico State University

Amy joined the Nutrition and Health Sciences Department June 2016, after working for 17 years in the University Health Center’s administration office. 

As Administrative Associate for the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, she assists the department in a variety of ways. Her current responsibilities include:

  • assisting with the logistics of the day-to-day operation of the department
  • providing administrative support to the Department Chair
  • coordinating departmental meetings and events
  • facilitating department communications
  • managing personnel files
  • processing temporary lecturer offer letters and fellowship award letters
  • assisting with the promotion and tenure files submission process
  • organizing and coordinating annual faculty and staff performance reviews
  • processing department purchasing
  • serving as Building Maintenance Reporter for Leverton Hall
  • providing travel assistance
  • participating in the department Safety Committee
  • supervising Administrative Office staff

Amy works to foster and encourage a work environment that is welcoming and supportive for everyone. The outstanding work done in our department is the result of a well-connected team that knows how each person plays a critical role in our overall success. We work as a team, we grow as a team, and we celebrate our accomplishments as a team.
