Michelle Kang, associate professor in HRTM from the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication (ALEC) program in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, has been recognized for her geotagging research in tourism education.

Kang received the best poster award at the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators conference in Charleston, South Carolina in October. The poster was titled “Tracking Hedonic Consumption of Tourists Using Geotagged Food Photographs.” The project was in collaboration with Hanyoung Go, ALEC adjunct professor, and Yoonwoo Nam, from the Department of Community and Regional Planning in the College of Architecture.

Kang and Go will also be presenting the paper “Wellness Tourism Identified by Geotagged Photos” at the 4th World Research Summit for Tourism and Hospitality in December in Orlando, Florida.
