Cooperating Teachers

Classroom

The Cooperating Teacher (CT) demonstrates a strong passion for education and a dedication to guiding future teachers. Through this immersive experience, student teachers build the professional skills and dispositions needed for effective classroom decision-making. By collaborating with a CT, students engage in real-world practice with curriculum design, instructional methods, classroom management, lesson planning, fostering a positive classroom culture, and more.

Cooperating Teachers play a vital role in guiding education students through meaningful field experiences before they enter the profession. As a trusted mentor, you’ll support and scaffold the student teacher’s development, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for full-time teaching.

If you’re an experienced educator with at least three years of teaching, consider making a lasting impact by mentoring the next generation of teachers.

Letters of Recommendations

Letters of recommendation are crucial in the decision-making regarding hiring. As such, evaluations play a critical role in shaping the student’s future. Clear, specific, and honest feedback is most beneficial to both the student and prospective employers. Because student teaching is a developmental process, it’s important that performance evaluations are openly discussed with the student teacher.
