Dr. Amanda Higgins joined the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences in Fall 2021 after earning her Ph.D. in Educational Studies-Educational Leadership and Higher Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her dissertation explored the expectations and experiences of athletic training preceptors during the transition of athletic training programs from undergraduate to graduate curriculums.

Prior to her role as a faculty lecturer in the University of Nebraska Athletic Training Program, Dr. Higgins worked clinically as a Certified Athletic Trainer with the University of Nebraska Softball team.
