Students will be responsible for reviewing final course instructor or preceptor responses for each evaluation. A student may request a reconsideration of an evaluation made by an instructor or an affiliated institution’s preceptor.
The following procedures will be followed:
- The student will notify the program director of any dissatisfaction with an evaluation within one week after the evaluation is discussed.
- The program director will discuss the evaluation with the student and the student can decide if a meeting should be scheduled to discuss the evaluation with the instructor or supervising preceptor and the program director.
- If after the meeting the student feels a satisfactory settlement has not been reached, a written rebuttal statement can be attached to the evaluation which may also include comments from the course instructor or affiliated preceptor. All parties may review each other's comments. A summary statement of the conference discussion will then be written by the program director and signed by all parties.
- If no agreement is reached, the evaluation will stand as the affiliated institution’s preceptor has written it; however, all copies of rebuttals and comments will be retained in the program files.
