Carson receives first CEHS Staff Star award

15 Dec 2011

Diane Carson, CYAF, was honored in December with the CEHS Staff Star award.

The award is new to the college and is given every two months to a staff member who exemplifies the hard-work, care, and concern that creates a caring and supportive educational environment.

Carson received no fewer than four nominations, all praising her work with students, faculty, and other staff members. Carson's strengths are apparent in comments made by her nominators:

"She exhibits empathy for everyone that crosses her path; the students feel her motherly concern, and peers feel her genuine friendship."

" . . . her manner is ever gracious, with the eye on the prize or good and effective work in the department."

"Diane reminds me of a bright, shiny star. She is always so pleasant to work with and always has a smile on her face .  .  . . She is bright, catches on quickly, and is very thorough."

"Diane makes sure a student feels valued and knows he/she is important to us by going as far as to being the one who calls all over to find an answer for a student rather than sending the student on a wild goose chase."
