Alumni Master, Dr. Kaleb Briscoe

Kaleb Briscoe to be honored as CEHS Alumni Master

14 Mar 2023

Alumna Kaleb Briscoe  will return to campus March 22-24 to be recognized as an Alumni Master. Briscoe earned a doctorate from the Department of Educational Administration in 2020.

The Alumni Masters program is sponsored by the Nebraska Alumni Association, the Student Alumni Association and the UNL Chancellor's Office. Its primary goal is to link the university’s outstanding alumni with students who can benefit from their experiences and knowledge, as well as honor alumni for their success and leadership.

Briscoe is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Mississippi State University where she conducts research into oppressed and marginalized populations within higher education. Through her scholarship on campus racial climate, Briscoe seeks to disrupt whiteness and white supremacy on predominantly white campuses, and her research shapes administrators, specifically university presidents’ responses to race and racism. A recent Spencer Foundation grant recipient, Briscoe’s work has been published in the Journal of College Student Development, Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, Higher Education Research and Development, Journal of International Students and Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice.

The CEHS community is encouraged to take part in the following special events with Briscoe.

  • Faculty of Color Session: Mar. 23, 10 - 11 a.m., CPEH Room 115
  • Lecture on Restrictions and Challenges in Higher Education: Mar. 24, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., CPEH Room 227
