Kelcey Buck joined the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders in April 2016 as the communications associate. In that role, she is responsible for all external communications, including maintaining the department website, writing and distributing stories, creating promotional materials, and generating content for the department's website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) accounts.
Kelcey arrived at Nebraska after working in athletics communications for nearly eight years, most recently as the assistant sports information director at Washington University in St. Louis. She spent more than four years at WashU, where she was responsible for handling all publicity for the varsity baseball, women's basketball, volleyball, women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's swimming & diving, and men's and women's track & field programs.
Prior to working at WashU, Kelcey spent more than three years at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, where she was the school's first sports information director. Throughout her time in athletics communications, she was an active member in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), serving on the organization's Academic All-America committee.
Kelcey graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in art from Doane College in 2008, then earned her master's degree in education from Central Methodist in 2010.
