Bennur awarded 2011 Sara Douglas Fellowship

TCD's Dr. Shubha Bennur is the recipient of the 2011 Sara Douglas Fellowship given by the International Textile & Apparel Association. This fellowship is named in memory of Sara Douglas, professor at the University of Illinois. Dr. Douglas’ research and teaching interests dealt with international trade in textile and apparel. The fellowship is intended to support a project that will develop international linkages and collaborative cross-cultural research and/or teaching in textiles and apparel. Dr. Bennur submitted a conceptual proposal titled "How Did the Indian Regional Embroidery 'Kasuti' Reach the International Markets?" in collaboration with Dr.Laksmi Gavai from India. The award was announced at the November 3 plenary session of ITAA's annual conference in Philadelphia.
