CEHS and CASNR promote soybean research experience for teachers and preservice teachers

14 Jan 2013

Nearly 400 LPS K-2 classrooms are using soybeans as the model plant system to teach science through a joint project between CEHS and CASNR.

Additionally, as part of the project, CASNR courses are being used to meet science requisites for pre-service elementary and secondary science teachers. Furthermore, through the NSF Noyce Fellowship Program, CASNR and A&S are working with CEHS to help graduates obtain an MA in science education and NE certification.

Science education partners are embracing IANR’s science literacy goal of using ag & natural resource systems as model systems for science.
