Gottner Receives Staff Star Award

22 Aug 2019

Congratulations to AnnMarie Gottner, the latest Staff Star Award recipientGottner is the Director of Advising for CEHS, and works closely with central UNL offices as well as all of the CEHS departments. Her innovative ideas for engaging stakeholders and improving processes and services are validated through quantitative and anecdotal data. She looks for ways to continue to improve things, like streamlining the curriculum committee process, or validating current information and looking forward with future innovations.

Gottner was described as dedicated to her job in CEHS, and to the CEHS mission.  She demonstrated this last year when the position of CEHS recruiter was vacant. This position is an important part of keeping CEHS viable, so AnnMarie took on the added responsibilities of that position. She spent many hours doing extensive planning, collaborating with various personnel, and maintaining the positive energy and continued dedication to steady improvement. According to the nomination, Gottner “did a great job, and CEHS enrollment held steady.

“The most amazing thing about AnnMarie Gottner,” says a nominator, “is that while her personal life is just as busy as her professional life, including parenting and working on her graduate classes, she maintains her good humor, patience, and pace - which is why she is one of the most valuable assets of CEHS.”

If you know of a staff member who you believe goes above and beyond their scope of duties, make sure and nominate them for a CEHS Star Award at https://go.unl.edu/staraward.
