"Practical Ways to Deal with Bullying Inside and Outside the Classroom"

26 Oct 2011

Saturday, November 5, Susan Swearer (CEHS) will discuss practical resources parents and teachers can use to address bullying, many from her book entitled "Bullying Prevention and Intervention: Realistic Strategies for schools." Additionally, RESPECT2, an educational organization located in Omaha, will use theater and role-playing activities to address issues of bullying and harassment. The workshop is provided in conjunction with the matinee and evening performance of Shape of a Girl at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The workshop will be held at the International Quilt Studies Center & Museum from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The workshop fee is $15, which includes a copy of Swearer's book and lunch.

There are two showings of Shape of a Girl, which will be performed at the Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater. The matinee begins at 1:30 p.m. and the evening performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Swearer will lead a follow-up discussion at both the matinee and evening performances.
