Springer named CYAF Interim Chair

I am pleased to announce that Paul Springer has agreed to serve as the CYAF interim chair while we complete a national search. Paul has significant leadership experience given his time as interim associate dean and I am confident that he will maintain stability but will also help guide growth and achievement during the interim period. As chair, Paul will provide overall leadership for the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies including the management of and the long-range planning for the unit. He will also be responsible for activities related to fiscal management, administration of personnel and the service and outreach mission of the Department.

I will not be filling the associate dean for academic affairs position right away. In addition to the chair duties, Paul will continue three jobs for the dean’s office: chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, chair and ex-officio of the Graduate Executive Committee and he will continue leading the enhancement program for professors of practice. Other responsibilities of the associate dean position will be handled by others.
