Four faculty in the College of Education and Human Sciences were among those receiving internal funding awards from the Office of Research and Innovation and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Research Council.
Minji Jeon, assistant professor in teaching, learning and teacher education, and Milad Mohebali, assistant professor in educational administration, were awarded Layman Seed Program funding, while Lydiah Kiramba, associate professor in teaching, learning and teacher education, was one of five Layman New Directions Program recipients. Additionally, Kara Viesca, professor in teaching, learning and teacher education, was awarded a Visiting Scholar, Distinguished Lecturer and Symposia grant.
The Layman Seed Program funds new projects by early career faculty who are nontenured at the time of submission. The Layman New Directions Program funds tenured faculty who are branching into new research directions or need funding to support pilot or developmental work toward the next step in a funded research program.
The three CEHS Layman Seed Program and Layman New Directions Program recipients are listed below with the titles of their projects.
Minji Jeon – “Building AI Literacy in Middle School: A Pilot Study of an Instructional Unit Prototype”
