Meet Emma Conradi, a May 2024 graduate from Minnetonka, Minnesota, who majored in communication sciences and disorders.
Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I chose UNL because of it's nationally ranked speech-language pathology program, and because it wasn't too far from my home state of Minnesota.
What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?
I was the president of the Student Council for Exceptional Children, the vice-president of the UNL National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, an undergraduate research assistant and UCARE student with the UNL Learning Lab, and the treasurer for the CEHS Student Advisory Board.
What has been your favorite class so far and why?
My favorite class was SLPA 464 which is Speech Sound Disorders. This class taught an array of communication disorders which we will be treating as future speech-language pathologists, so it was a very interesting and engaging class.
What are your career goals?
This fall, I will be attending UNL to pursue my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. I am an MPUP-SPADE scholar, so my studies will be focused on children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
