Meet Kristin Johnson, a May 2024 graduate from Lincoln, Nebraska, who majored in human development and family science with minors in psychology and gerontology.

Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

UNL has been the school of choice for my siblings, my spouse, and my 3 sons! I've had the privilege of attending as a non-traditional student with all 3 of my sons over the page 4 years.

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?

Ratio Christi, CEHS events, research until Dr. Julie Masters in the gerontology department and gerontology internships under Bede Bolin.

What has been your favorite class so far and why?

GERO 435 Nutrition and Aging. Erik White is an excellent online instructor and the course brought my two main interests of study together in one highly insightful class. We learned so much about quality choices in nutrition and long-term impact in aging.

What are your career goals?

Life engagement, enrichment and recreational therapy for older adults.
