Faculty and students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders were the featured presenters at Sunday with a Scientist on April 19 at Morrill Hall.

A monthly event hosted at Morrill Hall, Sunday with a Scientist is open to the public and dedicated to sharing ongoing research and innovation by scientists and students. SECD faculty and their students had tables throughout the museum for sharing information and technology to highlight their research and its impacts.

The event allowed SECD faculty to connect directly with members of the community to answer questions and offer hands-on demonstrations for visitors to examine human communication development and rehabilitation across the lifespan, as well as advances in special education research and practice. Faculty and students from their research labs shared their work, highlighting cutting-edge research in the areas of voice, swallowing, neuroscience, brain imaging, stroke treatment, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies, hearing acoustic signals in noise, cochlear implants, and advances in multimodal learning and literacy models in special education.

Faculty from SECD who participated in the event are listed below with their research lab or area of expertise.
