Brandon Heinz has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “The Impact of Policies on Racial Equity and Instructor Experiences in Higher Education Institutions During Emergency Online Learning,” as part of the Educational Studies Doctor of Philosophy program in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Heinz is a native of Lakewood, Colorado.
 
The research focused on the intersection of race and educational technology. Heinz explored the ways in which technology can help better student engagement in learning.
 
Heinz’s advisor was Kara Viesca, professor at Nebraska.
