Meet a Husker: Kaileigh Delano

Meet Kaileigh Delano, a sophomore from Columbus, Nebraska, who is majoring in elementary education. 

Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

It’s close to home, and I just couldn’t imagine college without the same game days I experienced as a little girl!

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?

Gamma Phi Beta, Sammy Superhero’s UNL board where I hold a presidential position.

What has been your favorite class so far and why?

Plant Science (horticulture). At first I was confused as to why I, as an elementary education major, would end up in horticulture but it was super fascinating to learn how plants grow and what they need to thrive.

What are your career goals?

My career goals is to be a 3rd grade teacher, and possibly a dance coach! I love kids and would love the opportunity to influence many lives!
