Uma Ganesan has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Exploration of the Lived Experiences of Native American Science Teachers of the Great Plains: A Narrative Inquiry,” as part of the Educational Studies Doctor of Philosophy program in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Ganesan is a native of Chennai, India.
 
This dissertation explored the racialized and gendered lived experiences of Indigenous science teachers in elementary, middle, and high school (K-12) settings in a reservation school in Nebraska.
 
Ganesan’s advisor was Theresa Catalano, professor at Nebraska.
