Adams and co-authors receive 2012 Journal of Research in Science Teaching Award

Julie A. Luft, formerly Arizona State University and now University of Georgia, Jonah B. Firestone, Arizona State University, Sissy S. Wong, University of Houston, Ira Ortega, University of Alaska Anchorage, Krista Adams, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and EunJin Bang, Iowa State University, Awarded High Honor by the National Association for Research in Science Teaching.

This year, Julie A. Luft, Jonah B. Firestone, Sissy S. Wong, Ira Ortega, Krista Adams, and EunJin Bang have won the 2012 Journal of Research in Science Teaching (JRST) Award for their article titled: ‘Beginning Secondary Science Teacher Induction: A Two-year Mixed Methods Study’.

This honor indicates the article has received the highest ratings from their colleagues in the Selection Committee from among all articles published in Volume 48 (2011) of JRST.

Since 1928, NARST has promoted research in science education and the communication of knowledge generated by the research. The ultimate goal of NARST is to help all learners achieve science literacy. NARST promotes this goal by: 1) encouraging and supporting the application of diverse research methods and theoretical perspectives from multiple disciplines to the investigation of teaching and learning in science; 2) communicating science education research findings to researchers, practitioners, and policy makers; and 3) cooperating with other educational and scientific societies to influence educational policies.
