Friends of the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to stimulate interest in the Gallery and the historic collections in the Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Friends play a vital role in the activities of the Gallery by providing ongoing financial support, fundraising for special projects, educational outreach programs and workshops, and special events to extend the relationship between the Gallery and the community.

Exhibitions and programs are made possible with private support and grant funding. The Friends provide the Gallery’s single largest source of annual funding.

Membership dues help sustain this unique and innovative resource. Members also receive a subscription to our newsletter “Uncommon Threads,” advance notice for exhibitions, lectures, and workshops by local and visiting fiber artists, invitations to special events, and many opportunities to share their interest in textiles with others.
