University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain Professors to give talk Feb. 8

The TLTE Graduate Student Association cordially invites you to a talk and student-led panel discussion given by Olga Elwes Aguilar and Victoria Guadamillas Gomez, professors at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The talk is scheduled for Friday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. in TEAC 139.

Olga Elwes Aguilar and Victoria Guadamillas Gomez, professors in the Faculty of Education at UCLM in Toledo, are visiting UNL as part of a research project that compares teacher preparation for second language learners in the U.S. to that in Spain. Their presentation will introduce the education system in the region of Castilla-La Mancha and provide a brief outline of the pre-service teacher preparation program at UCLM. Additionally, the presenters will discuss immigrant youth in Castilla-La Mancha schools and how their teacher preparation program at UCLM prepares teachers to work with Spanish as a Second Language learners. The presenters will be available after the presentation for a discussion and audience questions facilitated by panel members.
