Video available for MAP Academy presentation featuring Scott Frohn

Scott Frohn, senior manager of assessment and psychometrics at Workera.ai, led the first presentation of the Fall 2023 Methodology Applications Series Sept. 22.

Video is now available of Frohn’s presentation, “Putting ChatGPT to the Test: Practical Applications of Large Language Models for Assessment Development.”

The presentation, which was co-hosted by the CYFS MAP Academy and the Buros Center for Testing, discussed the advancement and accessibility of ChatGPT and other Large Language Models (LLMs) over the past year, which has dramatically impacted how many approach work, productivity, learning and many other aspects of daily life.

Frohn provided a high-level overview of how LLMs such as ChatGPT work, as well as practical advice for leveraging LLMs in assessment development and best practices in prompt engineering. He shared some examples of how they work with some random text and subject requests.

Continuing education credit for this program is available upon request from the Buros Center for Testing.

The series will resume Oct. 27, when Justin Olmanson, associate professor of innovative technologies the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, will lead a virtual presentation.
