Congratulations CEHS graduates! We are proud of your success!

CEHS, it's faculty, and staff are proud of the approximately 436 undergraduate, 119 masters, and 34 doctorate students who will receive their degrees this spring. Their hard work, and the support and love of their families continue to inspire the CEHS community to strive toward enhancing the lives of individuals, families, schools, and communities and to strengthening the relationships among them. Our graduates are a tribute to the ultimate mission of every institution of higher education–student learning and achievement.

Scharmann new TLTE chairperson

Larry Scharmann, professor of Education, will soon join the College of Education and Human Sciences as chairperson of the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education. Scharmann begins his official duties August 1. Scharmann impressed the Search Committee, members of the Department of TLTE, others throughout UNL, and our colleagues in Lincoln Public Schools with his leadership abilities, his knowledge of schools, and his keen interest in faculty, staff, students and potential partners.

Scharmann new TLTE chairperson

Friesen retirement celebration May 5

Colleagues and friends are invited to attend the retirement reception of Orville Friesen from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, May 5 in the Buros Center for Testing’s library, Teachers College Hall. RSVP to jenny.day@unl.edu by May 1. Orville is CEHS’s “photographer of record” and has been a long-time staff member in the Instructional Design Center at Henzlik Hall. He has been with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for 45 years serving in a variety of capacities, but always with photography at the core of his work.

The reception is 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 5 at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, 33rd and Holdrege streets on East Campus. The Department of Educational Administration and the College of Education and Human Sciences invite you join them in recognizing Dr. Bryant’s career and accomplishments as a professor at UNL.
