IQSCM researchers visit China

Researchers from the International Quilt Study Center & Museum are in China to conduct research and field work on northwestern Chinese patchwork traditions. They partnered with  Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, China, to present a series of lectures on American folk art, specifically patchwork and quilting. They will return from their trip on May 20.

Constructing History: Structures and Silhouettes

Period dress speaks of the wearer and the decades past. Recreating historical garments allows us to learn about sewing and design. This exhibit features both original historical garments and reproductions, telling the story of fashion in the Midwest.

Molly McPherson curates Constructing History: Structures and Silhouettes.

The exhibit can be seen at the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery, May 13 through June 28, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CEHS proud! Graduates in the spotlight

CEHS, it's faculty and staff, are proud of the approximately 92 master’s students, 28 doctoral students, and 444 undergraduates who will receive their degrees this spring as a result of their hard work and the mentoring they have received.
