Heather Snodgrass, marketing and communications manager for the Buros Center for Testing, has been named the recipient of the latest Staff Star Award by the College of Education and Human Sciences Staff Council.
In her role, Snodgrass manages marketing and communications activities, oversees advertising and promotional efforts, produces a quarterly newsletter, and coordinates exhibitions and sponsorships at professional conferences. Her nominator wrote that since Snodgrass joined the team in 2018, she has helped the Buros Center move productively and efficiently into the future.
“We had in our strategic plan that we needed to raise the visibility of the Buros Center on campus and off and she has helped us achieve this goal immeasurably,” the nominator wrote. “She is the quintessential team player, and we’re super glad she is on our team.”
Snodgrass takes a collaborative approach to the creation of communications and marketing messages, always seeking the input of the rest of the team. She has established regular communications with stakeholders, reviewers, clients, and practitioners, and she’s always trying innovative approaches to generate new contacts. For example, Snodgrass established an institutional membership for the Buros Center with the National Latinx Psychological Association, with the aim of strengthening Buros’ relationship with the organization.
“She has been incomparably valuable to the working of our center,” the nominator wrote. “Everything she does, she does with a positive and optimistic attitude that perhaps like the pandemic is easily transmissible.”
