Lisa Knoche, Kevin Pitt and Azadeh Hassani have been selected as recipients of 2026 College of Education and Human Sciences research and creative activity awards. These honors recognize excellence in scholarship, innovation and impact that advances the college’s mission to strengthen individuals, families, schools, and communities.
The CEHS Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Career Award recognize a nationally or internationally recognized member of the college with a sustained record of impactful research and creative work.

The CEHS Emerging Scholar Research and Creative Activity Award acknowledges a member of the college who has achieved early distinction in research or creative activity with a clear and impactful program of work.
- Kevin Pitt, associate professor, Special Education and Communication Disorders
The CEHS Graduate Student Research and Creative Activity Award is given to graduate students who participate in multiple research, creative and scholarly activities and in the dissemination of findings.
- Azadeh Hassani, Ph.D. in educational studies – innovative learning technologies, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education
All honorees will be recognized at the college’s annual awards ceremony on Friday, April 24.
