NAECR Knowledge event explores sharing research through integrated marketing communications

A March 10 NAECR Knowledge event explored ways to effectively share research through integrated marketing communications, including social media.

 How can researchers make their work accessible and digestible to practitioners and policymakers?


That was the focus of the NAECR Knowledge virtual event March 10. About 50 early childhood researchers attended via Zoom videoconference to discuss how social media can be used to share research effectively.

Dana Ludvik, CYFS communications and media specialist, outlined the basics of integrated marketing communication strategies. She discussed ways social media can help researchers share their findings, how to create compelling content and how researchers should talk to the media.


NAECR researcher Patty Kuo also shared her experiences in leveraging social media to disseminate her research and recruit research participants.


Rachel Wenzl, associate director, Research Compliance Services, offered guidance and perspectives on issues related to compliance as researchers think about such social media strategies.


NAECR Networking and NAECR Knowledge are an ongoing series of networking and training events designed to enhance early childhood research across the NU system. 


The spring semester’s NAECR Networking event will be April 19. Elizabeth Everett Lopez of First Five Nebraska and members of the first NAECR Policy Fellows cohort will discuss the policy process, early childhood policy priorities and how to adapt your research approach to better engage with policymakers.
