The Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center
The Schmoker Reading Center provides reading and writing tutoring to children in the community who are reading below grade level. Tutoring is provided by CEHS graduate and undergraduate students, under the direction of UNL faculty and certified teachers. Individualized instruction aims to help each child improve his or her reading and writing skills, gain greater confidence as a reader, and establish a love for reading. Tutoring is provided for students in grades K-6 year-round and students in grades 7-12 during the fall semester.
