As the state's demographics continue to change, Nebraska schools are increasingly seeking the services of bilingual teachers. School districts from Omaha to Lexington are adopting dual language programs to address the achievement challenges of more diverse student populations. Zach Hammack of the Daily Nebraskan recently wrote an article highlighting this education issue and consulted Theresa Catalano, assistant professor in Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, for his story.
