Perspectives of Cooperating Teachers Regarding the Student Teaching Experience

Megan Schuh has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Perspectives of Cooperating Teachers Regarding the Student Teaching Experience,” as part of the Educational Studies Doctor of Philosophy program in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Schuh is a native of Madison, South Dakota.

The exploratory study highlights the voices of current South Dakota elementary teachers regarding their perspectives on the student teaching experience. The study calls for teacher preparation programs to recognize cooperating teachers as teacher educators in mentoring the next generation of teachers. 

Schuh’s advisor was Stephanie Wessels, associate professor at Nebraska.
