State-of-the-Art Facility

Train and learn in the state-of-the-art Scarlet Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel which opened in April 2022 at Nebraska Innovation Campus.

Hands-On Learning 

Start your career by completing three internships as part of your academic program with organizations such as The Masters Tournament, Walt Disney World or the College World Series.

Networking Opportunities 

Learn from an advisory board of experts from across the industry and connect with professionals at conferences in both the U.S. and abroad, including the EuroCHRIE Conference, Cannes Film Festival or the National Restaurant Association Show.

Introduction to Hospitality Management (HRTM 171)

Gain an understanding of the global hospitality industry and its economic, social and cultural impact through classroom and applied learning. Industry trends and career opportunities are also discussed.

Introduction to Tourism (HRTM 280)

This class provides opportunities to engage directly with established tourism organizations and industry professionals, offering you insights into the practical aspects of working within the tourism industry.

Introduction to the Event Industry (HRTM 289)

Learn the fundamentals of meetings, events, expositions and conventions. Students gain firsthand experience while learning knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be a successful event professional.

Catering Management (HRTM 373)

Learn concepts in catering management and service. Students have the opportunity to cook and serve quality food at appropriate costs using cost-control principles while meeting client expectations.

Guest Service Management (HRTM 374)

Explore the principles of guest service management in hospitality and tourism organizations while exploring the ways hospitality and tourism organizations can inspire positive customer service interactions.
