Keiser, TMFD, awarded scholarship and stipend

CEHS is happy to announce that TMFD Merchandising major Anna Keiser is the recipient of the Ray M. Greenly Scholarship awarded by the National Retail Federation. The $5000 scholarship is also accompanied by a $2500 stipend that will underwrite Anna's attendance at the NRF's annual convention in Chicago this Fall.

TMFD Merchandising major Anna Keiser wins Ray M. Greenly Scholarship

Washington, May 30, 2013 – More than two dozen college students, including TMFD's Anna Keiser, received great news this month when they learned they were chosen as recipients of $5,000 scholarships from the National Retail Federation Foundation’s Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund.

Duppong Hurly and Epstein generate $3.2 million IES grant

Kristin Duppong Hurley and Michael Epstein, professors in the College of Education and Human Science’s Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, have been awarded a $3.2 million research grant from the Institute of Educational Sciences, the research arm of the U.S. Department of Education. They will study Parent Connectors, an innovative parent-to-parent intervention program developed to support the families of middle school youth with emotional disturbance (ED).

Jobman selected for Freda Drath Battey award

Innovative teaching, a knack for meeting student needs and a commitment to extracurricular activities make Becky Jobman a respected and valued teacher at Freeman Public Schools in Adams. Those same characteristics also led to Jobman being selected as the 2013 Freda Battey Distinguished Educator, an annual award presented by College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
