Zsombor Rajkai to speak March 15

The Child, Youth and Family Studies Department will host Zsombor Rajkai, who will give a presentation entitled "Family and Social Change in Socialist and Post-Socialist Societies: East Europe and East Asia." CEHS Staff Council will offer a series of technology workshops Monday of spring break. Sessions will run concurrently at 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., and again at 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

This week, Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, will officially launch the Born This Way Foundation to promote tolerance and empowerment among youth. Susan Swearer, a UNL professor of school psychology and an anti-bullying expert, will be among a select group of scholars to help lead the kickoff event.

CEHS Office of Research sponsors research colloquium featuring Mcintyre Latta

Margaret Mcintyre Latta will speak about her recent book, Curricular Conversations: Play is the (MISSING) Thing.

Curricular Conversations is about play as a medium for teaching and learning that asks teachers and students to participate through adapting, changing, building and creating meaning. Its central theme is this: Play is the thing that brings aesthetic curricular complications near educators and their students, making the lived consequences very vivid, tangible, and possible.
