Staff Council asks your help in supporting two worthy charities this holiday season: Fresh Start Home and The Barnabus Project. Donation boxes are set up in each CEHS building for your convenience.

Cahoon to present Nutrigenomics Seminar Series, November 30

On November 30, at noon in the East Union, the Nebraska Gateway for Nutrigenomics Seminar Series will continue with a presentation entitled “Unraveling Vitamin E Biosynthesis for Enhanced Antioxidant Content of Crop Plants” given by Edgar Cahoon, professor with the UNL Plant Science Initiative and the Department of Biochemistry.  His research focuses on basic and applied research on plant lipid metabolism.

CYFS postdoc, Ryoo, earns UNL 2011 Outstanding Postdoc Award

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln recently presented the 2011 Outstanding Postdoc Award to Ji Hoon Ryoo, a postdoctoral research associate with the CYFS-housed National Center for Research on Rural Education (R2Ed).

Fulbright panel discussion and luncheon, Nov. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A CEHS Fulbright awardees panel discussion and luncheon will be held Nov. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the East Campus Union.

Four CEHS faculty members will discuss their experiences in four different countries over the past four years:

• John Creswell, South Africa and Thailand
• Mike Epstein, Finland
• Del Harnisch, Georgia
• Wendy Weiss, India

Tips on how others might apply successfully for a Fulbright will also be provided.
