Steven M. Barlow, Corwin Moore Professor in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, and Jacob Greenwood, a biomedical engineering Ph.D. candidate, were selected to attend the NU Foundation Celebration event to conduct a live demonstration of the pTACS neurosensory stimulator and showcase brain hemo applications in adult MCS stroke and CB3 MRI neuroimaging results.
Ali Shull, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Educational Psychology, was recognized as a 2025-26 Buffett Institute Graduate Scholar at a reception held at UNMC on Dec. 2. Learn more.

Awards
The Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education received the 2025 Educational Partnership Award from African Immigrant Family Services.
Chandan Krishnamoorthy, a graduate assistant in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, received the Life Sciences Fellowship from the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. (IANR). Learn more.
Milad Mohebali, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Administration, was selected to receive the Excellence in International Research Award from the Commission for Global Dimensions of Student Development.
Mel Sedlacek, office associate and IDEA campus coordinator in the Department of Child, Youth, and Family Studies, was awarded the Great IDEA Award, recognizing the people who positively impact IDEA programs and students.
The Office of Graduate Studies held a reception to recognize award and fellowship winners, including: Barbie Zaman Wahid, a Ph.D. student in nutrition and health sciences, Outstanding Graduate Research and Creative Activities Award; Roopan Miriam George, a Ph.D. student in child, youth and family studies, Fling Fellow; and Tina Shetabi, a Ph.D. student in textiles, merchandising and fashion design, Dean’s Fellow.
