Preparing for your Academic Advising appointment:
Appointment confirmation - New students will be emailed three days before your scheduled advising appointment with directions for your in-person or virtual/zoom meeting. Not seeing your appointment confirmation? Contact the CEHS Student Services center at 402-472-8624.
MyRed access – Make sure you can access MyRed during your advising appointment. Students will be on their MyRed account to select classes and build their Fall class schedule.
Technology – For in-person advising appointments you are welcome to bring a laptop, but it is not necessary. Virtual appointments will be on Zoom. Make sure to be on a computer/laptop that has audio and video along with a strong internet connection.
What to expect for your Academic Advising appointment:
Prior to your advising appointment, your CEHS assigned academic advisor has reviewed information you have already submitted like the advising inventory, math placement exam, and if available, transcripts.
Most students will meet with their assigned advisor during their NSE appointment, if your assigned advisor is with another student during your selected appointment time – another CEHS advisor who advises in that same program will work with you during your appointment. Your assigned advisor will follow up with you by email a few days after your appointment.
NSE advising appointments are about forty-five minutes long, there will be plenty of time to learn about your degree program, answer any questions you might have, and enroll in Fall classes.
Students can invite a parent or guest to join their advising appointment if they would like.
Academic Advising appointment done, now what?
