Preprofessional students not accepted into the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) Professional Program following completion of ATHT 146, who wish to continue with an athletic training major and who have made formal application to the UNL ATP the following year, may do so after completing the following steps exactly as listed below:
- Speak directly with the UNL ATP Program Director prior to the start of the Next fall semester informing them of the plan to reapply to the UNL ATP during the next application period.
- Note: The UNL ATP is transitioning to the master’s level and the last cohort for the undergraduate program will begin in the fall semester of 2022. Applicants who do not receive acceptance into the UNL ATP starting in the fall semester of 2022 will not have the opportunity to reapply to the undergraduate UNL ATP. Those not receiving acceptance should meet with the CEHS Academic Advising and Career Center to discuss a change of major.
- After speaking with the UNL ATP Program Director, the student must make an appointment and speak directly with the CEHS Academic Advising office prior to the start of the next fall semester informing them of their plan to reapply to the UNL ATP.
- During these meetings, the preprofessional student’s deficiencies will be addressed and a plan of action for the preprofessional student will be developed.
- If the preprofessional student accepts and successfully completes the plan of action as outlined, the preprofessional student will be allowed to make formal application to the UNL ATP during the next application period.
- The plan of action will be filed with the CEHS Academic Advising Office and in the preprofessional student’s secured electronic file.
- The successful completion of the preprofessional student’s plan of action does not guarantee acceptance into the UNL ATP.
