Four CEHS students named 2023 homecoming royalty finalists

Four students from the College of Education and Human Sciences are among the 20 Husker seniors selected as University of Nebraska-Lincoln homecoming royalty finalists for 2023. 



The four students from CEHS, including their majors, hometowns and parents’ names, are: 







  • Jayven Brandt | secondary education (social sciences) | Kearney, Nebraska | Mindy Spivey 




  • Rachel Morros | elementary education | Mission Viejo, California | Mark Morros and Carolyn Cohn-Morros 




  • Paul Pechous | special education (7-12) and political science | Elkhorn, Nebraska | Don and Nicki Pechous 




  • Samuel Phillips | hospitality, restaurant and tourism management | Los Angeles, California | Joseph and Nicole Phillips 






The royalty winners will be elected by the student body in an online vote Oct. 25 and 26. They will be crowned Oct. 28 at halftime of the Nebraska vs. Purdue football game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.
