Ken Kiewra, the John E. Weaver Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has written a new book detailing productivity stories and methods based on interviews he conducted with dozens of productive scholars over the past 25 years.
Kiewra’s book, Be a More Productive Scholar, published by Cambridge University Press, highlights what allows some scholars to publish hundreds of powerful works over their careers.
“Some scholars are highly productive,” Kiewra said. “They break new ground and do it again and again. Their names and ideas are ubiquitous in scientific journals and scholarly books. But all of them began their careers with blank CVs. What they have accomplished almost any scholar can accomplish if they uncover the hidden curriculum of scholarly success and apply its tenets.”
In 2023, Kiewra presented a five-part webinar series on becoming a more productive scholar that was viewed by more than 2,000 people at UNL and worldwide and was sponsored by Citavi, A Lumivero Solution. Kiewra has also published recent books on talent development and college success.
