Madison Woltemath, events and outreach manager for the College of Education and Human Sciences, has been named the latest recipient of the Staff Star Award presented by the CEHS Staff Council.
“Madison consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her,” one nominator wrote. “Her initiative and versatility have made a meaningful impact on our team and the broader college community.”
In her role at the college, Woltemath plans and coordinates all events at the college level, while assisting the seven academic departments in CEHS with their own events throughout the year. Both of her nominators for the Staff Star Award noted her thoughtfulness about how to make sure every individual attending an event has a positive experience.
“There are so many ways Madison goes above and beyond, but one that stands out is her intentionality around inclusion when hosting events. She takes care to ensure that everyone’s dietary and accessibility needs are thoughtfully met, and that every guest feels welcome, included, and able to fully participate and enjoy the experience.”
Beyond the college, Woltemath has been active in representing CEHS in events across campus, including serving on the planning committee for the annual All-Staff Conference and the planning committee for the National Science Olympiad hosted at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May.
“Madison is constantly striving to be better and do better for the sake of positively impacting the people around her,” another nominator wrote. “Her creativity, passion and work ethic set her apart. She is selfless and the ultimate team player, embodying what CEHS stands for – working not for her own recognition, but for the good of the college.”
The Staff Star Award recognizes CEHS staff members who go above and beyond their scope of duties. It is given on a quarterly basis and the next nomination deadline is Oct. 31. To nominate a staff member for a Staff Star Award, click here.
