Logan Thurber is a junior nutrition science major from Lincoln, Nebraska. He is also one of 37 Huskers who was recently selected for the ninth cohort of the Clifton Builders Program.
Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I chose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln because Lincoln is my home. I have grown up here my entire life, and never considered going somewhere else for college. This university has been a huge part of life growing up, and I wouldn't want to spend my college years anywhere else.
What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?
On campus, I am a chemistry TA, a Clifton Builder, am in agricultural economics club, AMSA, and Order of Omega.
What interested you in joining the Clifton Builders Program?
I joined the Clifton Builders program because I wanted a change of pace from all of my science courses, and I wanted to do something to get me out of my comfort zone. I knew this program would surround me with other high-achieving individuals and teach me lessons about leadership, management, and entrepreneurship that I would not receive anywhere else on campus.
What has been your favorite class and why?
My favorite class in college so far has been physiology. Even though it was challenging, learning the inner workings of the human body was fascinating to me.
What are your career goals?
My career goal is to become a physician, yet I am not sure on a specialty.
